Learning In The Age Of The Coronavirus
My thoughts on learning in the age of the coronavirus are not really a lot. It would effect schools like the ones that have been shut down but the ones who haven't have a higher risk of getting the virus
The Great Gatsby Essay
The last line of the book is arguably the most important : "So we beat on, boats against the currents, borne ceaselessly into the past."
This line embodies the thematic conflict in The Great Gatsby because Gatsby is obsessed with something from the past and he tries desperately to get it back and live once again in the past.
Gatsby was once a young military officer and was stationed near Daisy's house in Louisville,Kentucky. Daisy was quite popular among the soldiers which is how Gatsby had met her. Although Gatsby was not rich she didn't know that. Daisy was the first " nice girl " that he had met and all of a sudden they both fell in love with each other. Before he left to the war Daisy promised to wait for him. While he was away Daisy got married to a man named Tom Buchanan and had a baby with him. Daisy's personality had also changed since then. She seemed to not care about her surroundings or about anything including her own baby.
After years Gatsby returns and buys a mansion across from Daisy's house. Every day he throws giant parties with important people with the purpose of getting her attention. In the past Gatsby didn't have all the money he has now. He made it his mission to get rich and reunite with Daisy. He thinks he can change the present to "fix" it and relive the past. That is the only thing he becomes obsessed with, he is blinded by the past and he doesn't see that Daisy doesn't put the same effort as he does. Gatsby later on takes the blame for a murder Daisy committed just because he still loves her. Gatsby could've done so many things with his life and money but he was obsessed with living in the past.

Gatsby Pre-Write
" So we beat on, boats against the currents, borne ceaselessly into the past"
This line embodies the thematic conflict in The Great Gatsby because Gatsby mainly focuses n one thing which is getting Daisy back.
He and Daisy had a thing going on when he left to the war and he wishes that things would be just as they were before he left.
He cant accept the fact that things wont be like they were before but he is desperate to get her back like he once had her in the past.
Things have changed after Gatsby and Daisy were separated, Daisy has a baby, shes married to a guy named Tom, and her personality has changed since then, she seems as if she doesn't care about anything surrounding her not even her own baby.
Gatsby bought a mansion from where he can see the house Daisy lives in and he throws giant parties to try and draw her attention.
But before in the past Gatsby didn't have all the money he has right now and he thinks he can do anything with it including getting Daisy back and making everything how it used to be in the past.
That is the only thing he becomes obsessed with, he is blinded by the past and he doesn't see that Daisy doesn't put the same effort into making things the same but he is still blinded and he even takes the blame is a murder that Daisy committed.

Big Question
A question that has been on my mind for some time now is how will we deal with over population. It has been a long time since we have been on this earth and one day i'm sure its gonna get very crowded and i don't know how this problem would get fixed.I also think that's the reason there are wars , diseases, and anything that kills humans , just to keep the earth from getting overpopulated.

Whats So Great About Gatsby
I think that Gatsby is great. I don't know if he's good but to me there was nothing really bad about him. The title also says " The Great Gatsby "
Nick is honest to himself but he often hangs around people who arent but i dont know why

Cue Theme Music
I think that the central message of The Great Gatsby is that you can't relive the past or change someone's feeling. Maybe it's also about how money won't give you anything you want no matter what you do with it , you can't change someone's feelings with money.
